synchros
Up
Lot: Six Synchro transmitters/positioners, resolver, servo preamplifier, NEW IN BOX
Your tax dollars at work: these pieces of finest aircraft equipment
cost the federal government over 11 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($11,471)
to acquire. (and I have official documents to prove it, will send copies
to you). Then for some reason they decided not to use them and I bought
them at an obscure surplus auction. Next time you fill out your tax forms,
remember these expensive high precision synchros.
See pictures below.
What is being sold:
- 6 synchro transmitters (positioners) for precise positioning.
The dials are calibrated to 1/10 of a degree of angle. These are
precision dials, a full turn of the knob turns the actual dial by
only 10 degrees, not 360. Each cost the feds $1,185.00.
Made by Litton Clifton Precision Special Devices, PN 435-1-534, S/N
8701, CONTR f41608-88-M-0840.
- One resolver that is accurate to 3 MINUTES OF ANGLE. Cost the
feds $1,311.00.
Made by Precision Electronics and Instrument
Company, Delray Beach, FL. Type: RS600, Model 102, S/N FL9829.
- One servo motor preamplifier. Drives six servos
(one per each synchro supplied). Comes with a set of extra
resistors. Cost the feds $3050.00.
Made by Sperry Piedmont Co, div. of Sperry Rand Corp,
Charlottesville, VA. Part No 1875671.

documentation
for these things by Litton Poly-Scientific in PDF format.
All these parts somehow are associated with Litton Poly-Scientific. Call them if you would like, suppliers
like this are often surprisingly friendly.
Please check this
mirror of this auction for updates. Specifically, I will be posting
documentation and PDFs, if I can find any.
These items are new in original packaging(new old stock). I opened
some of the antistatic packages to inspect the goods, but did not open
the inner packaging. One synchro came opened, but it is new and unused as
far as I could tell. The resolver was opened but packaged. The controller
was new but open.
