Fortress FX-16 Aluminum Anchor (Danforth lookalike)
This is an Fortress FX-16 anchor in excellent condition. Even though
it has seen use, parts of the original price sticker are still on it,
therefore it was lightly used. I would keep it for my
boat, but I already have a smaller Danforth (similar type anchor),
which works great. Some highlights:
- Holds up to 38 ft boats (holding power up to 5,000
lbs) (see Fortress Anchor Sizing and Selection Guide)
- The fluke angle is adjustable, either 32 deg. for
sand, or 45 deg angle for mud, for outstanding holding power
in both common seabed materials.
- Built of precisely machined interlocking aluminum parts,
with no welds to weaken the metal.
- The aluminum magnesium alloy is extremely strong,
corrosion-resistant, nonmagnetic and light. It is similar to
aircraft alloys.
- Fortress anchors disassemble for storage. They're easier
to handle and lighter on the bow than steel anchors, and do
not rust.
