For sale is a working 1986 Lincoln SA-200 pipeline DC stick welder. Starts and runs, makes nice welds. See a video of it welding. These SA-200 are the most loved and admired welders for their longevity, ease of repair, and quality of welds.
All photos are taken with it running.
Battery compartment has rust. One of the armature brushes for the DC generator is worn, it still works (as you can see, I welded with this machine), but needs replacement ($10). It would also probably benefit from a tuneup. Battery, as well as welding cables, are not included.
This is a 25 year old welder and I offer no guarantees, other than it starts fine.
I bought this welder from a bankrupt construction company. It sat in the far corner. All I had to do to get it running, was replacing a starter with a remanufactured starter from NAPA. I also replaced a rotted fuel line. The gasket for the strainer bowl next to the tank was stiff and I cut my own. I recommend that you buy a replacement (around $5).
I listed this welder a few weeks ago, but after listing, I realized that the welder needs extra work done and I did not want end up sellnig it not as described. Since that time, I 1) changed spark plugs, 2) Carburetor rebuilt 3) Muffler installed 4) Fuel bowl cleaned of copious quantities of crud 5) Fuel shutoff valve cleaned. Now the welder runs strong, quiet, never skips cylinders under load, etc. I also measured Compression: 132, 135, 135, 137. Not so bad!
CASH ON PICKUP. I will NOT ship this welder.
