This unit has an IEEE 488 connector in the back and can be remotely controlled.
The 600 Synthesized Microwave Signal Generator is a very useful and extremely versatile instrument. It is used to synthesize a range of microwave frequencies at a variety of power levels and in a variety of modulation modes. It is capable of generating output signals in the range of 6 to 12GHz (1MHz resolution) with output power levels from +10 to -110 dBm (0.1 dB resolution). The RF output can be internally or externally modulated in AM (10Hz to 10kHz), FM (10Hz to 1MHz), and Pulse (10Hz to 1MHz) modulation modes. Separate displays are provided for frequency, modulation, and output level for setup and monitoring of output conditions. The 600/6-12 can be operated manually from the logically laid-out front panel, or under remote computer control via the IEEE-488 interface bus. The unit offers a frequency range best suited for high-range instruments in radar, communications and EW applications from X through Ku band.
Testing: due to lack of gigahertz band equipment, I was only able to give this unit limited testing. The unit powers up. All display elements work. I was able to change all relevant settings (carrier frequency, modulation frequency, level, pulse width, etc etc). I did not test the signal output, although I would be surprised if it did not work. It is in a good shape cosmetically.
