For sale is a military surplus Coleman 4KW DIESEL generator. The military rated it condition A4, which means as good as new. It appears to have seen very little, if any, real use. Also, it appears to be very clean.
It produces 120 or 220V of power. This generator will be an excellent jobsite or emergency generator. It is equipped with a long life ACME motori diesel. The diesel engine is 370 CC. According to Lambordini USA, ACME's dealer, ACME motori's engines have a life expectancy of 3,000 hours. It is also a very economical generator, which burns very little fuel at idle or half load. I calculated, based on Acme Motori's email, that the 5 gallon tank on it would last about 24 hours under sensible conditions. As I said, the tank's capacity is five gallons.
I have made two modifications to it since I bought it. One is that I put it on casters for ease of moving it around. The second modification was removing recoil start and adding a socket adaptor and starting it with a cordless drill. I did that due to my rotator cuff injury. It is very easy to spin up and start with pretty much any drill. The board you see on the side is added for safety of starting and running and can be removed. The original recoil start is still available with all necessary hardware, and will be provided.
The generator starts every time and puts out power, which I ascertained with a test 4 KW load. It can run and start a powerful 3HP, 220V, dual motor compressor.
I kept it as an emergency backup generator, but need money now and will sell this one. I have not used it for more than one hour.
Local pickup is preferred, however, I can ship it on a pallet. Delivery to a shipping company within 30 miles from Lisle, IL 60532 (such as Watkins Motor lines) is $60. Pallet and bolting it to a pallet is free. If you want me to build a crate, I will charge $60 for that. I will help you arrange shipping.
