For sale is a 1 ton CM Lodestar chain hoist. It uses regular 115 volts electricity, as may be found in your kitchen. I checked it and it works great. One of the rubber electrical stress reliefs is pulled out, which I would recommend fixing for extra safety.
I checked it out and the hoist functions fine, goes up and down without problems. Certainly, if you are to use it where safety of people or goods is at stake, you need to have it checked out by a certified professional.
