Airstar50Compressor

UpUp

For sale is a military surplus (Great Lakes Naval Station in Illinois, US Navy) Air Techniques AirStar 50 air compressor. It is a twin head, 3HP model. It requires 220V single phase voltage. It purifiesand dries the air, making it suitable for dental offices, however, it is also suitable for a variety of tool shop tasks. Dimensions: 31" height, 38" width, 24" depth. Dries air to less than 2% moisture.

This is a very expensive compressor. It costs $7,790.00 new. See this PDF marketing brochure for information on Airstar 50 and other AirStar compesssors.

I have tested this compressor extensively by plugging it into the 220V generator. It is quiet. It quickly reaches 100 PSI operating pressure, at which point the motors stop. It starts again when the pressure reaches 80 PSI, and recharges the tank. The buyer would be able to inspect the item and start it up, in the event of a local pickup.

Some important notes: The NEMA 3R electric plug is NOT included in the auction, for liability reasons. It probably violates National Electrical Code. Make your own wiring. I will, obviously, leave the wires for you, but without the plug. The platform on wheels is also mine and is not included. The child is also not included in the auction, he is shown for size comparison purposes. On the pressure control box behind the compressor, the cover is missing (see picture 14 and others, you can see it). You should cover that box with something for safety reasons, otherwise 220V will be exposed. I might make something for you, or you can order that part from a dealer.

Shipping: I greatly prefer a local pickup. I have a chain hoist to hoist in into your truck. I can deliver in Chicagoland, in the evening, for a $60 fee. Shipping would be responsibility of the buyer. Pick up from residential, 60532, 400 lbs (300 lbs net weight, but I will add 50 for pallet etc). I will attach this item to a pallet securely and will also use a tarp to cover it securely. For an extra $60 fee, I will build a crate for it.
