OLD Variac Variable transformer, UGLY but it WORKS
This is an old and ugly as hell (see pictures) Variac variable AC
transformer. It takes 110 VAC input and depending on the knob
position, converts it into 1-160 VAC output. It says 200-500 on the
cover, which I interpret as being able to convert 200 to 500 watts of
power.
I have tested this unit with a digital voltmeter and it works just
fine. It is, howerver, rather unsightly and shows age. I do
believe however that it is about as good as new -- there is no wear
and tear in transformers.
