It is guaranteed not to be DOA. Specifically, it was tested as follows: connecting 12V car battery to the power connectors made the motor turn nicely and quietly, albeit slowly (it has 80 V bus voltage). I have not, however, tested its tach/encoder features, due to lack of tools. So I guarantee that it will not be DOA, however I state that the advanced features are AS IS. That is, if it does not turn, I will refund the $$, but if the tach/encoder does not work, I will not refund the $$. I do, however, have full expectation that there is nothing wrong with the tach/encoder. Return for refund (less shipping) if it does not turn.
