For sale is a Wilton 400S Vise. It is in a very good working shape, the jaws are also in a decent shape. The screw is protected from elements and was also in a great shape. I added some lithium grease to the screw.
This vise was repainted as the original paint job on these is not too great and was deteriorating. I degreased it, removed old flaking paint with paint remover, degreased some more, took a wire brush to it to clean up, then applied cold galvanizing primer, and on top of it painted with a "green hammered" paint. This should last you for years and provide very good rust protection, which is what you really care about.
This vise was made by strong, proud, hard working Americans like yourself. It was then used by honest, careful employees of an American plant that, unfortunately, closed. This vise and will last for several generations. But it now and pass on to your kids and grandkids as a family treasure.
