Onan DJC 10-12 kW 1-3 phase generator head NEW
This head is built with Onan quality, to tough US military standards. Featured is a ball bearing, self exciter, everything is built very heavily. This head has 12 leads and can be wired for either 1 phase or 3 phase. In reality, this head can continuously produce 12.5 kW of electricity.
As far as I could tell, this head is new and has never been used. It is still in the factory packaging.
It is designed for direct rigid coupling with the engine shaft. You can find a used Onan DJC engine and it should, hopefully, fit perfectly. Alternatively, with a lathe and drill press, you can machine a short axle with a flange for the side without a bearing, bolt the flange to the flywheel/cooling fan, put a bearing on the flange and then screw a plate to the generator housing to hold the bearing.
This head cannot be compared to cheaply made Chinese or Indian or generator heads sold on ebay. Original cost $3,300 or more. A very expensive head that is designed to withstand serious abuse and to last forever. Military generators are built to overcome 100% surges for starting large motors. Try asking your Chinese generator head supplier if theirs is as good and whether it cost them $3,300.
This item CANNOT be shipped via UPS or Fedex. It weighs perhaps 400 lbs. It is on a pallet and if I was to ship it, I would not charge any "palletizing" or "crating" charge. I will throw a contractor trash bag over the box to protect it against elements. Local pickup is free and I can hoist it into your pickup. The milk just is not included, it is shown for size comparison purposes.
