For sale is a military surplus HP 756A AC voltage calibrator. I spent a bit of time messing with it to test it, here are the results. The calibrator powers up. It produces voltages that are seen on my oscilloscope (see picture). It responds to the frequency adjustment knobs as would be expected. It also responds to voltage range selection buttons, but it produces voltages that do not match what's on the buttons. What puzzled me is that if I select a 100V button, I would see some millivolts (like 450 mV) on the output connectors in front. If I select lower voltage, I get even less, correspondingly. Therefore, I am not convinced that this unit is in a good working condition or not. I will describe it as thoroughly as I can, and will be happy to answer questions or perform more tests (ask well in advance of auction end). Due to weight of this unit, I do not want to deal with returns. It is very heavy to say the least. Please be sure to check the shipping cost. Local pickup is always free and welcome.
