This is a Mitutoyo Surface tester model 178-903. It was calibrated 8/23/1996.
It powers up, and the needle moves when I move the sensor near metal. I am
not a measuring professional and I do not know whether this is a complete
set or not. It appears that there is at least enough parts to move the needle.
It costs $995 at
Electronic Surplus Inc. But then, maybe their set is better tested.
Then again, you get a satisfaction guarantee from me.
Since I am not sure how to completely test it, I feel that the risk should
be on the seller. :SATISFACTION:
