UpUp

This is a Friden Alcatel 8834 postal scale. This is a very accurate and high capacity model -- up to 100 pounds. Has a TARE RESET button. Works great: It has computer interface on the back. Can be programmed to calculate postage. I use a similar scale for all my ebay shipping, it is excellent. Works fine.

The ideal buyer of this scale would be an ebayer who ships a lot of light and heavy stuff and has a baby who needs weighing and who needs accurate weight measurements. You get the idea. Unlike the cheap infant scales, it is very accurate, with its accuracy certified by the federal govt.

It cost the federal government $4,649.00, it is still working great. Compare it with typical baby scales that cost $150, and have less accuracy and capacity, or the worthless bathroom scales. Here you have everything, accuracy, capacity, flexibility. :NIIN:

Disclaimer: When you weigh an infant, please keep a VERY CLOSE LOOK at him ALL THE TIME!!! When I was 4 months old, I fell from a scale and you see what happened! I now feel compelled to warn other parents.

The white spots you see on top of are remainders of a plastic packing list thing, easily removable if you have spare 10 minutes.

This unit takes a standard computer cable and ships without one.

I compared the weightings obtained on this scale with our infant scale, they are very similar.
