UpUp

Note: I also have a UPSI 1500TR for sale. It is a true battlefield UPS, military surplus, designed for bad power conditions, it has autosensing transformer and feeds off 80-260VAC. Extremely rugged and comes with an icebox, supplies very clean "true online" power, even if it feeds from a cheap generator. Check out my other auctions.

This is a Best Ferrups ME 3.1KVA UPS. Unlike most other Ferrups UPSes sold around here, I spent a few hours testing this unit, so that I can give you a fair idea of its condition.

This is a military surplus UPS. This UPS comes with four batteries BAT-0103. I took it apart and examined the batteries. Two of them are completely shot and worthless. Two others are in an OK condition, meaning that they can be charged and that they do hold the charge. I am quite sure however, that you would be better off replacing them if you want to get decent runtimes out of this UPS.

For testing purposes, I replaced the two shot batteries with two marine boat batteries. The following was observed:

In other words, I do not see anything wrong with this unit. This UPS is in a good cosmetic condition, with a few scratches on the edges.

Local inspections of this unit are welcome, by appointment only.

You can view the manual online at http://www.bestpower.com/PDF/manuals/m_ferrups_user.pdf

Best power is always happy to answer any questions you may have regarding this UPS. You can reach them at 1-800-356-5737.

It is supplied by 120 volts in and delivers computer grade power out. It has RS232 interface for pc communications. It has a STANDARD (hospital grade) power plug.

This unit is heavy. It weighs over 188 lbs without any batteries. Local pickup is free of charge. If you would like this item shipped to you, the crating fee will be $40 in addition to the actual shipping charges. Shipping is entirely your responsibility, it is unlikely that UPS or Fedex will take this unit (fedex ground might if you have a fedex ground account). I can also deliver this unit within Chicagoland in my pickup truck for $3 per mile, minimum $25. Naturally, only the two BAT-0103 are included, the boat batteries are not included.
